In November of the same year a parallel exhibition, NINA NOLTE – ORIGINALS & LIMITED EDITIONS, opened the doors for the visitors.
Both exhibitions we curated by Gallery Wild, Zurich/ Switzerland.
In March 2018 Nina Nolte took part of the exhibition STARKE FRAUEN (Strong Women) at the MAC Museum Art & Cars in Singen/ Germany. The exhibition illustrated power of women and cars from 1888 onwards with Bertha Benz’s first automobile journey, the image of women in the 1920s, the pinup girls and the advertising face of the automobile industry in the 1960s.
Nina’s artwork “I´LL REMEMBER APRIL” was shown on the exhibition banner and exhibited with the works of the American artist Jenny Holzer, the Swiss artist Corinne Sutter and others like Dan Pyle, Werner Eisele, Peter Phillips and works from the collection of the Southwest German Art Foundation. After the exhibition, the museum acquired the artwork. It now can be seen in the permanent exhibition of the museum.
NINA NOLTE • LIMITED EDITION • BERLIN Sport & Art – Luxury Boots & Luxurious Ladies (June 23 – 25, 2017)
Enjoying Berlin Eastside feeling with it´s industrial history and summer freshness and a park of amazing RIVA boats, coming from all over Germany and other European countries to spend a weekend in this unique landscape in the east of Berlin with canals, large lakes and charming bays.
It was an amazing location to present Nina Nolte´s Limited Edition with the charming and elegant middle-aged ladies, who could easily be sitting on board one of those beautifully and well conserved wooden sport boats, all from the 50’s and 60’s.
Although the weather wasn’t not that sunny, everybody enjoyed that magical weekend and we are already looking forward to the coming summer party in 2018 !
From May – September 2017, Nina Nolte exhibited with the big names of Pop Art on the exhibition Popsommer. Her Limited Edition was rubbing shoulders with limited editions of Jeff Koons, Roy Lichtenstein, Christo, James Gill, Allen Jones, Mel Ramos and Niki de Saint Phalle. The exhibition took place in the well known former church St. Johann in the city of Konstanz, situated on the Lake Bodensee, curated by Gallery Wild, Zurich.
She participated with ten artworks of my Limited Edition including eight Textile Art Prints and two Lightboxes, all editions of 150 numbered and hand signed pieces.
The exhibition banner outside the building showed the motif of Nina Nolte´s artwork COKE CAN IN MY POOL, a Lightbox in 70 x 70 x 9 cm (28 x 28 x 3,5 “), coming in an aluminium frame with remote control and dimmer, and also forming part of the exhibition. Her Coke Lightbox is already hanging in the US, the UK, in France, Spain and Germany.
Nina Nolte at the Exhibition Curated by Monica Colussi
Fiat Chrysler Motor Village – London . UK
NIna Nolte exhibits at this renowned exhibition and pays homage to the enigmatic showman with a series of artists who were inspired and influenced by him, or knew and worked with him.
Monica Colussi has organised and curated an stunning exhibition that both salutes Bowie while also adding to his legacy and cult; a collection of existing and commissioned work, weaving a narrative through this extraordinary life. Like Bowie himself, it crosses mediums to include paintings, photographs and sculpture.
Nina Nolte took place with her original work THE KING OF ROCK’N ROLL. It is a portrait of the famous artist and shows him with a saxophone; Bowie was given a saxophone by his father as a child. The saxophone is the first musical instrument he played. The lightbox, which can be controlled by a remote control, measures 110 x 110 x 9 cm (43 x 43 x 4″).
It was Nina Nolte´s third art car ever. It´s not the newest model, but the artist likes the very special design of 2011, with its friendly front which looks like a face and its well-shaped back. It all inspired her for Barney´s new look. Her typical stick figures, the CHICOS on a white ground.
Thanks to the sponsor, BECKER & BECKMANN, expert in car painting in Berlin, Barney made this fabulous transformation from a normal duckling to beautiful little swan.
The interior – all in leather, including the steering wheel – was made by MITTELSTÄDT, a Berlin professional upholstery.
BARNEY took part on a fair and got some very positive press reviews. HE now forms part of a car collection.
