In the captivating landscape format artwork A PENNY FOR YOUR THOUGHTS, Nina Nolte transports us to a serene spa setting. Two friends, donned in white dressing gowns, stylish turbans, and sunglasses, share an intimate moment. Each cradles a green apple in hand while seated on a pristine white sofa, against a striking black and white checkered floor. Their feet rest on an aubergine-colored carpet, complementing the pink cushion between them. Lost in thought, they exude a distinct sixties charm, complete with black sunglasses, white and blue turbans, and wide white headbands. On the transparent glass table to the left, we find red glasses, likely holding orange juice, and a VOGUE magazine featuring a third elegant lady with a pageboy cut, donning a small hat and a coat with a white collar.
This original masterpiece was created in 2013 in Nina Nolte’s studio in Berlin/ Germany. It measures 110 x 160 cm (43.5 x 63”). Crafted with acrylic, color pencils, and pastel on canvas, the artwork has graced galleries in Paris, Berlin, Dusseldorf, and art associations in Aschaffenburg and Westerland, Germany.
