STARRY, STARRY NIGHT by Nina Nolte
STARRY, STARRY NIGHT is a captivating piece from German artist Nina Nolte’s BODEGONES – STILL LIFES series.
This expressionistic work in landscape-format presents a delightful composition featuring three distinctively designed chairs and a slightly elevated round table. Adorning the table is a circular vase boasting six vibrant orange and red tulips, each with delicately rose-colored leaves. The chair arrangement unfolds with a rose-colored chair on the far left, followed by a sunny yellow table and a lemon yellow chair. Finally, the red chair on the right holds a charming pink tulip. The setting evokes a sense of a terrace, possibly at dusk, as the warm, dark blue horizon hints at evening.
A crescent moon graces the sky between two chairs, while stars twinkle, mirroring the carpet’s pattern. The piece is adorned with a dark red frame adorned with rose-colored dots. Notably, many contours were meticulously defined with precise black lines, using acrylic directly from the bottle, akin to a fountain pen, as the artist herself reveals.
This original masterpiece, STARRY, STARRY NIGHT was crafted in 2004 within Nina Nolte´s studio in Marbella, Spain, using acrylic paint on canvas. The original artwork boasts dimensions of 102 x 160 cm (40 x 63″). It is available for viewing in our PANORAMA187 studio in Marbella.
